    The Security Networking Group meeting looks to provide information sharing and identification of best practices for implementing the security rules. This meeting provides opportunities to participate in the creation of security deliverables (sample policies, procedures, position statements, whitepapers, preemption documents, etc.) and the option to take advantage of those deliverables. This group establishes a forum for participants to voice concerns and seek assistance in resolving troublesome security issues. This meeting takes place every fourth Wednesday from 12-1pm CT unless otherwise noted.

    The Risk Management Networking Group meets to provide an opportunity for information sharing, participation in the creation of risk management deliverables and a discussion around  relevant topics related to Risk in the News. This group also serves to establish a forum for participants to voice concerns and seek assistance in resolving troublesome risk management issues. They also establish a forum for participants to voice concerns and seek assistance in resolving troublesome privacy issues. Deliverables revision calls offer opportunities to participate in the creation and revision of privacy deliverables (sample policies, procedures, position statements, whitepapers, preemption documents, etc.) This group meets the third Thursday of February, May, August and November at 12pm unless scheduled otherwise.

    The Artificial Intelligence Networking Group (AI NG) is dedicated to fostering an environment of collaborative learning and knowledge sharing in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence (AI) and its use within the scope of the HIPAA Privacy, Security, and Breach Notification Rules.     This webinar explores federal and state regulatory and legislative efforts to protect the privacy and security of women’s health information since the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision in 2022. The discussion will conclude with practical tips for updating your organization’s privacy and security compliance program. 


    Meet our Presenters:

    Kaitlyn Fydenkevez, JD uses her prior government experience to provide forward-thinking counsel to health care entities and providers of all kinds. She focuses on corporate privacy and security programs, assisting clients in protecting various categories of data, including employee, patient and consumer. She advises her clients on compliance with state and federal health care privacy laws as well as state, federal, and international non-health specific data privacy and security issues. Kaitlyn has significant experience in contract drafting and negotiation including reviewing HIPAA-compliant business associate agreements, privacy and security agreements, and general confidentiality and data privacy and security-focused language. Before joining Quarles’ Washington D.C. office, Kaitlyn spent time in both the Office of Counsel to the Inspector General (OCIG) and the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).     Dan Guggenheim, JD represents clients in a variety of industries, including health care, health technology, life sciences and information technology. He delivers strategic advice, innovative solutions and practical guidance on commercial agreements, privacy and data protection, regulatory guidance, product and compliance counseling, and artificial intelligence (AI) law. Before joining Quarles, Dan served as chief legal and compliance officer for a digital health company, deputy general counsel for a medical group of over 4,000 independent primary care and specialist physicians and its associated management services organization, and assistant general counsel at an international pharmaceutical and device distributor and manufacturer. With 20-plus years of in-house experience, Dan has keen insight into the practical needs of clients, which allows him to provide legal solutions tailored to each company’s strategic objectives, operational requirements, and unique risk profile. Dan is affiliated with Quarles’ San Diego office and works remotely in the San Francisco Bay area. He earned his J.D. from University of California, Berkeley, School of Law.
